Day 38: Corn Fields to Vineyards

Woke up after a great nights sleep last night. Dave, the mechanic was very kind and ended up being well worth the effort to bike to his place. As he promised the morning was downhill for 7 miles back to the road I needed to be on. Once I reached Lake Erie, there were vineyards everywhere. For a good portion of the day I was biking through these vineyards right along lake Erie. Ended up being one of the highlights of the trip for me. Ended up stopping for my first swim in lake Erie. The water was as cold as I expected it to be so I wasn't in it long. I am planning on finishing the ride on June 30th. My parents are flying out to see me finish, so I had to give them a date. Also I am trying to see my friend George who lives in the town I am finishing in, he leaves for vacation on july 1st. I heading to see Niagara falls first thing tomorrow morning.

Miles biked today 115

Miles biked total: 3155

Adam, you are making good progress. I have been watching your blog pretty much the entire way. I just saw that you will be going through soon or already have been through Rochester, NY. I will be up there tomorrow night, but it looks like I will just miss you. Enjoy the rest of your trip, finish hard.

So were you able to taste any local wines? Never been to New York so will have to sit you down to hear all about it or hey how about a bike ride when you get back. I probably would average 6 1/2 mph Mom
